 I hope you're having a good day.

I hope you're having a good day. ★change something for the better, ... The city set up protected bus and bike lanes, which changed drivers' behavior for the better. ★wary of ... Efforts to reduce traffic will likely continue in the post-pandemic era, because the coronavirus has made many New Yorkers wary of public transportation. ★go hand in hand with, ... That goes hand in hand with other measures to reduce reliance on cars in urban areas. Here in America, children of older drivers sometimes take away or hide the keys of their aging parents when they won't listen to reason and insist they're still capable of driving safely. 2022 L2 Beware of Scams

|

I hope you're having a good day.

https://www.nhk.or.jp/museum/

bear down on, (威嚇するように)...

I turned around to see a gray-haired man bearing down on me at full speed on his bike.

He said the guy was a scam artist and had just pulled the same stunt with him.

I offered him a $100 bill, which I always carry in my shirt pocket in case I'm mugged.

Scammers are trying to cash in on people's fears by peddling fake coronavirus prevention pills and drinkable cures.

ロングマンによると、to sell goods to people, especially goods that people disapprove of because they are illegal, harmful, or of not very high quality

They were accused of peddling drugs.

pose as, ...

Scams by callers posing as grandchildren who need money are quite common in Japan.

Pose as sb to pretend to be someone else, in order to deceive people

spare someone the details,

I'll spare you the details.

Spare A()B(目的語)で、

A()B(言葉など)を控える、ということのようです。(オーレックス)

Small Talk "ZA-TSU-DA-N"

(1)

Are you careful when you walk across the street?

(2)

Are you ready to deal with a mugger?

(3)

Do you click links in an email you received?

(4)

What would you advise your parents to do to avoid being conned by scammers?

(5)

Please tell us about the latest fraud techniques.

Have you ever been scammed or almost been scammed?

WoW!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/features/6-minute-english

Let's
