杉田敏の 現代ビジネス英語 2022年 夏号 のインタビューはVital Japanの小田康之さんです。

 

どのようにして外国語を身に付けたのでしょう？　という質問に対して、

 

外国語を身につけるためにもっとも重要なことは「繰り返し」です。

 

と答えてらっしゃいます。

 

以前、小田さんの他のインタビュー記事で、単語を覚えられないときは200回繰り返して下さい、みたいなことをおっしゃっていました。

 

「繰り返し」こそが英語上達の秘訣ですね！！

 

同じ号のおたよりコーナーに、次の投稿がありました。

 

私は、月曜～金曜にビニエットの(1)から(5)までを1つずつ聞き、土曜と日曜に(6)を活用しながら1週間の復習、1か月で1冊を1周し、3か月で３周そして次の号へというサイクルで学習してきました。1年間にこのサイクルを守り、学習を続けられたことは、私の誇りです。

 

なんという美しい繰り返しでしょう。

 

一回学習するだけで、二度と復習というものをしない私の学習法では、決して英語を身に付けることはできないでしょう。

We can learn a thing or two from them as our species tries to survive in the post-pandemic era.

I hope you're having a good day. 前回、「リモートワークにより隙間時間がなくなったので集中して勉強できない」と書きました。 隙間時間　ないなら作れ　自宅にて 意図的に隙間時間をつくって集中力を高められないでしょうか。 最近、習慣化を支援するスマホアプリを使って学習の記録を始めました。 このアプリは15分単位で何の勉強をしたかを記録できるのですが、15分間の集中力がつくのです。 15分勉強したら、次は30分やらないと記録がつけにくいので、15分で学習終了です。 もちろん30分してもいいです。 つまり最低15分間は集中してやろう！というモチベが生まれるわけです。 これはいい方法だと思いませんか？ ★change something for the better, ...を改善する、...をよくする、...を好転させる The city set up protected bus and bike lanes, which changed drivers' behavior for the better. ★wary of ...に慎重な、...に用心深い Efforts to reduce traffic will likely continue in the post-pandemic era, because the coronavirus has made many New Yorkers wary of public transportation. 似た単語に「weary 疲れ果てた」があります。 ★go hand in hand with, ...と切っても切れない関係にある That goes hand in hand with other measures to reduce reliance on cars in urban areas. ★listen to reason, 理性的に考える、理性に耳を傾ける、道理に従う Here in America, children of older drivers sometimes take away or hide the keys of their aging parents when they won't listen to reason and insist they're still capable of driving safely.
