というメールがきたので、concurの意味を調べた上で、
I concur.
と答えておきました。
concurは、agreeのかたい表現のようです。
皆さんはネブラスカ州、アイオワ州の位置をご存知ですか。私は知りませんでした。先週までは。
先週、サンフランシスコからシカゴまでの54時間の列車旅をAmtrakのCalifornia Zephyr号でしました。カルフォルニア州、ネバダ州、ユタ州、コロラド州、ネブラスカ州、アイオワ州、イリノイ州という行程でした。
そういうわけで、ネブラスカ州、アイオワ州の位置関係が体感できたというわけです。
この路線はAmtrakの長距離路線の中でも美しさでは上位にあり、特に前半のカルフォルニアからコロラド州のデンバーまでが美しいとされています。カルフォルニアのシエラネバダ山脈、コロラド川の渓谷が見所でした。
ユタ州ではプレーリードックが駆け回る草原の数十マイル先にアーチーズ国立公園のアーチも見えました（双眼鏡が役に立ちました）。
デンバーからシカゴまでは平地が続きます。ただ、アイオワ州とイリノイ州の州境のミシシッピ川は非常に幅のある川で圧巻でした。
日本では味わえない長距離列車の旅を堪能できました。

be grafted onto a damaged part of your bodyで、（皮膚などを）移植する、という意味もあるようです。
ビニエットの和訳では、「スマホが私の体に接ぎ木されてしまったように思えます」とありますが、「移植されてしまったように思えます」でもいいのですよね。人間の体なのですから、こちらの方が理解しやすく思います。
★phantom ring, ファントムリング（実際は着信していないのに、携帯電話の着信音が鳴っているように錯覚する現象）
