8/25にアメリカ大使館 Friendship Dayに行ってきました。六本木にある大使館宿舎で毎年開催されていて、私は初めての参加でした。
11時開場で、ちょうどくらいに現地に着きましたが入場まで40分かかりました。来年以降行かれる方は13時以降に行かれると待ち時間がなくてよいでしょう。
大使館宿舎は広い敷地の中に3棟の宿舎が建っています。豊かさを感じます。当日は非常に天気がよかったのですが、日陰があまりないので暑かったです。
無料のビールを3本飲み（入場料は1100円）、100円ホットドックと100円BBQステーキ（長い列）、さらには200円ハンバーガーで腹を満たした後は、イベント会場で出し物を見ました。
このイベント会場は芝生になっています。敷物やテントを準備している人も多かったです。場所取りのためには早くから並ぶことが必要かもしれません。セサミストリートのショーが楽しかったです。子供向けですが大きなお友達も大喜びでした。
観客はほとんど日本人ですが、外国人（アメリカ人？ それも日本語を話す）も結構いました。expat（かぶり）にとってアメリカのお祭り的イベントに位置づけられているのかもしれません。

これ、あるイベントのwebサイトに書かれてあったのですが、なんのことか一瞬わかりませんでした。
このイベント、ヨーロッパのものだったので、日にちの書き方が日.月.年になっているのですね。
つまり、８月３１日から９月５日まで、という意味。
