1.身の回りのこと
緊急事態です。iPhoneと電子辞書が鞄の中で水没しました。
8/12に英語の勉強会に向かおうと家を出てすぐに、鞄から水がしたたっているのに
気づきます。鞄の中はペットボトルから漏れた水でちゃっぽんちゃっぽん状態。
iPhoneと電子辞書、その他もろもろが水の中。
急ぎ家に戻り、WEBで水没について調査します。ジップロックに乾燥剤や米粒
を入れる方法が見つかります。米粒でiPhoneと電子辞書を入れて乾燥を試みます。
が、iPhoneはショップに持って行くことにしました。
渋谷のソフトバンクのショップでは修理できませんでした。近くの修理専門店にも
持ち込みましたが、水没の場合は直らない場合もあるとのことでApple Store
での交換を薦められます。結局渋谷のApple Storeへ行きました。
Apple Storeでも水没の場合は修理はできずに交換となります。iPhone4を交換
する場合は13800円ですが、私の場合、購入後24ヶ月経っているので機種変更
を薦められました。
その結果、iPhone4S（白）に変わりました。今後24ヶ月にわたって機種代500円
ほどを支払うことになりました（この額は内蔵メモリ数により変わります）。
Apple StoreのGenius barの対応は非常にすばらしかったです。
データのバックアップはiCloudに知らない間にしていたらしく、電話帳などの
ほとんどのデータは復活しました。ただ、アプリの内部の設定は消えています。
これはバックアップしていなかったのかもしれません。
とはいえ、iPhoneがSiri対応になったので、遊び道具が増えたと前向きにとらえましょう。
今後2年間はこの機種を使うので、そのうち出るであろうiPhone5への機種変更は
がまんがまんです。
それにしても、ペットボトルのふたをきちんと閉めていなかった（ちょっと変わった
ボトルをつかっているので）のと、iPhoneをたまたま鞄に入れていた（普通は
ポケットに入れている）という、偶然が重なり今回の事故となりました。
これが想定外というものでしょう。
で、水没したiPhoneですが、背面はピカピカで大事に使ってきたのに
今ではただの文鎮にしかなりません。
電子辞書（これも最近買ったばかり）は今はジップロックの中に米粒と一緒に
入れていますが、明日にでもカシオのサービスセンタに行ってみようと思います。
10000円くらいで修理？交換？してくれるようなので。
