仕事や学習に集中できないときに使えるかもしれない時間管理術に
ポモドーロテクニックがあります。つい最近知りました。やり方はこうです。

25分間作業をする。
5分間休憩する。
25分間作業する。
5分間休憩する。
以下、繰り返し。

iPhoneアプリがあったので、これをダウンロードしてみました。
このアプリは25分たつとアラームで知らせてくれ、さらに5分立つと
作業開始のアラームがなります。

会社と自宅で使ってみましたが、かなりハードです。
25分間集中する難しさと、集中を途中で切ることもなかなか困難。

単純作業とか、小さな作業がたくさんある場合は本テクニックが
合うかもしれません。


キッチンタイマーでももちろん実行できます。
トマト型のキッチンタイマーがポモドーロの語源のようです。

実践トラベル英語(英国編)

先日会社のイギリス人との話の中で、イギリスの鉄道で往復より片道チケットの
ほうが値段が高かったという私の経験を話したところ、イギリス人の鉄道に対する
不満は高いようで、切符を買うときは自販機は買わない(おつりが出ないかもしれ
ないから)、窓口では、最も安いチケットを買う、ということでした。

つまり、one-way ticket, round-trip ticket ではなく、the cheapest ticketが正解であると。
オリンピック観戦でイギリスに行かれる方はご注意を。

Some demographers think the lingering bad times may have a long-lasting
effect on the American way of life.

It's our job at Health &Beauty to keep on top of that.

Fewer people are getting hitched overall.
