1.身の回りのことなど

心地よく感じる発言には気をつけようという話を聞いたことがあります。

池上彰さんといえばわかりやすい解説でおなじみです。
先日の4時間ぶっ通しの番組でも、番組冒頭で旧メディア寄りの解説が目立ちました。
テレビだから仕方ないのですが。

この番組ではエシュロンについても解説されてました。

このエシュロン、米国の愛国者法に基づいて、国民の電話やEメールを傍受
しているということです。

そういえば海外ドラマの24で、CTUがテロ容疑者の電話記録を簡単にアクセス
していたのを思い出しました。

また、このエシュロン、日本の三沢基地内の米軍施設でも稼働していて
日本人の電話やEメールも傍受されているということでした。

これをするためには、日本の電話会社やインターネットサービスプロバイダ
の協力が不可欠と思うのです。

まさか日本企業が米軍に通話内容やメールの内容を提供しているという
ことはないはずなのですが。

2.英語に関するあれこれ

ビジネス英会話のプロがやっているシンプル英語学習法
酒井穣(著)を紹介します。

酒井穣さんは「はじめての課長の教科書」「あたらしい戦略の教科書」
「これからの思想の教科書」の教科書シリーズで有名になりました。

また、「英会話ヒトリゴト学習法」を2008年出されましたが、これを大幅に
書き直した第二版が本書になります。

「英会話ヒトリゴト学習法」についてはここで書評を書きました。

今回の本では語られている学習法は前著を踏まえており大きくは変わって
おりません。

日本人がなぜリーディングはできるのにスピーキングが苦手なのか?

それは短期記憶で和文英訳をしているためであり、これをやめないと
流ちょうに英語を話せるようにはならない。

流ちょうさとは「間違えてもいいから途切れなく英語が出てくる様」です。

そこで本書はスピーキングを重視するトレーニングを紹介します。
また、スピーキングにおいても、正確性よりも流ちょうさを重視します。

我々はついリーディングやリスニングをまずやりがちですが、ここが大きく違います。
