英語以前に身につけたいこと 坂東眞理子（著）を読みました。
坂東眞理子さんはハーバード大学への留学、豪州ブリスベン総領事
などの国際経験が豊富です。女性の品格などのベストセラーでも有名です。
私は本書を「英語」に惹かれて手に取りましたが、中身は
日本人がグローバルになるための心構えや、英語以外のスキルが
メインとなっています。
国際会議での振る舞いや、パーティーに呼ばれた際のマナーについて
などご自身の経験に基づいたアドバイスが書かれています。
大学生くらいの若い人に読んでもらいたい本です。
英語については、文学作品は英語教育に向かない、という点が
心に残りました。
