北京出張の話です。
現地の関連会社に行ったのですが、皆さん日本語が話せたので
言語の問題はありませんでした。
米国企業の日本支社に米国人が出張するとこんな感じなのでしょう。
現地（日本）の人は英語を話してくれるという。。
で、どうやって日本語の勉強したのか聞いたら、
「一生懸命勉強しました」とのこと。
私達は英語学習を果たして「一生懸命」やっているか
振り返る必要があるのかもしれません。
空き時間に北京の西北郊外にある世界遺産の頤和園（いわえん）
に行きました。
ここは歴代皇帝の夏の離宮で、中心には広大な人口池と、
掘った土で作った山がありました。
万里の長城をほうふつとさせるスケールの大きさでした。
