■NHKラジオ 実践ビジネス英語 Workplace Gossip (5) 9/3 2009

My friend e-mailed the episode to his friends inside and
outside the company, speculating that this fracas would
lead to divorce.

In my position, I have to keep a watch on gossip and
back-channel communication here at Great Lakes.

I like to think that such problems can be solved through
in-house disciplinary procedures.

by trying to foster a healthy, open workplace atmosphere
that discourages irresponsible rumor-mongering.

The temptation to score points against a rival through catty,
irresponsible gossip can be very strong when times are tough.
