iKnow!という英語学習サイトは、現在、smart.fmという名前に
変わっていますが、このたびTED Talksが教材に加わったようです。

これまでのiKnow!の教材は初心者向けが多いという印象で、
実際登録はしているものの、使ってはいませんでした。
しかしTEDが教材になっているとなると、話は違います。
TEDは世界の一流の人々が講演をするというスタイルなので、
講演の英語を聞き取れるようになりたい方は、TEDのサイトを
見るとよいのですが、smart.fmで教材として使われますので、
こちらで無料で勉強してみてもよいでしょう。
さっそく、やってみました。
smart.fmでは、TEDの講演で使われる単語を学習します。
記憶の確認が繰り返し行われるのが特徴のようです。
自動的に記憶できるようなシステムになっているようです。
これをやって思い出したのが、昔の教育社のトレーニング
ペーパーです。通称、トレペと呼ばれたこの通信教育は、
私も子供の頃学習していましたが、繰り返し学習が基本でした。
これと似ているな、と思いました。
英語、特に英単語の記憶は、繰り返しが必須ですから、
