■意味を考えてみよう。今日取り上げる単語が含まれています。

I think the whole movement toward a green economy makes sense,
but sometimes people take things too far.

The idea is to conserve water by reducing the load on dishwashers.

And students tend not to load up with as much food as when they
used trays, which helps them keep unhealthy pounds off.

It's catching on at colleges all over the country.

People are starting to realize that water's a precious resource that
shouldn't be wasted, and small steps like eliminating cafeteria trays
can make a big difference in the long run, especially when everyone
joins in.

──────────────────────────────

──────────────────────────────
If a course of action makes sense, it seems sensible.

ex) They all said 'This is crazy, this makes no sense'.

──────────────────────────────
load on, ...への負荷 [負担]
──────────────────────────────
The load on something is the amount of weight that is pressing down
on it or the amout of strain that it is under.

ex) High blood pressure imposes an extra load on the heart.

──────────────────────────────
load up with, ...を積み込む、...を大盛りにする
──────────────────────────────
If you load a vehicle or a container, you put a large quantity of things
into it.

Load up means the same as load.

ex) We loaded up carts with all the blankets, bandages, medication,
water we could spare.

──────────────────────────────

──────────────────────────────
If something catches on, it becomes popular.

ex) The idea is catching on.

──────────────────────────────

──────────────────────────────
If something makes a difference or makes a lot of difference, it affects
you and helps you in what you are doing. If something makes no
difference, it does not have any effect on what you are doing.

ex) Where you live can make such a difference to the way you feel.
