最近、念願のプラズマテレビ37型を買いました。
大型ディスプレイは迫力がありますねぇ。

ハードディスクレコ-ダーを内蔵してあるタイプなのですが、
このレコーダー、なんと、録画中の番組を最初から再生する
ことができない!! という驚きの仕様でした。

いまどきありえないよ。。

もう一つ、テレビの電源を入れるとAMラジオに雑音が入って
しまう! 

午後10時35分にはテレビを消さないと、ビジネス英語が
ちゃんと録音されません。強制的にラジオを聴く仕組みが
また一つできた、ということでしょうか。

今回のテーマはオフィスでの雑談ですが、
いつもそうだろ!というつっこみを全国のリスナーが
したに違いない。。。




■意味を考えてみよう。今日取り上げる単語が含まれています。

All those people were undercover agents hauling stolen
property out of the house.

I was so embarrassed to have rushed in.

I was accosted by a plainclothesman as I was leaving
the bookstore after a quick lunch last week.

Hiroshi, shopdropping is like shoplifting turned inside out.

Undercover work involves secretly obtaining information
for the government or the police.

be accosted by, ...に声をかけられる

声をかけられるという甘いものではなく、rude or threatening
な調子で声をかけられるということです。

If someone accosts another person, especially a stranger,
they stop them or go up to them and speak to them in a way
that seems rude or threatening. [FORAML]

ex) I went up to the policeman and complained that this man
accosted me in the street.

コメントではないのですが、1点質問させて下さい。
今日出てきたshopdroppingという言葉の意味が分らないため
[shoplifting(万引きの意味と理解しますが)の反対」という意味が分りません。お教えいただければ幸いです。
