先日、右の 手のひら 擦りむきまして、けがをしたのです。
絆創膏をはっておいたのですが、夜に透明な液体がしみ出してきたので、異国の地に一人ゆえ、不安になり、翌朝、病院に行ったのです。
その病院の話です。
まず、近くの病院に電話をしたところ、Urgent Careを紹介されました。
Family Physicianの予約を取っている余裕はないが、Emergency Roomに行くほどの命の危険はないという中間の緊急事態に対して、予約なしで診療してくれる病院です。
結局は大したことはない擦り傷で、消毒して絆創膏を貼って、破傷風の注射をして帰りました。しみ出した液体も、体の正常な防衛反応のようです。
診療代は保険外診療で210ドルでしたが、後日の保険会社への請求により大部分は帰ってくるはずです。
破傷風は、tetanusというようです。医者からtetanus shotは最近受けたか？と聞かれ、もちろんtetanusが何のことか分かりませんから、スマホで調べました。
今回の注射で今後10年はもつ、ということでした。
手のひらも3週間経ち、かなり皮膚が再生しました。手のしわまで再生されるのが不思議ですねー
