米国赴任12週目が終了。


3ヶ月も経つと英語に慣れると聞きましたが、あれ、うそですね。


夜はABCニュース、朝はBBCニュースを見ています。

 

最近朝のジョギングを始めました。ゴルフで18ホールを回りきる体力をつけるためです。毎日、朝からとてもさわやかなので最高です。高原の避暑地の朝のひんやり感なのです(いったことないけど)。


30分ほどですが自宅の周りの様子がわかってきました。普段は車で通りすぎるだけなので細かいところはわからないのです。


一つ気づいたのは周辺には中古車販売業者が多いということ。今までカーディーラーかと思っていたのですが、そうではありませんでした。どの店もpre-owned vehiclesと書かれてあるのです。used carではなく。pre-ownedのほうが印象が多少はよいのでしょう。そんなpre-ownedの車売り場がメーカーごとにずらりと並んでいるのです。


また、マットレスの店もたくさんありました。各家庭一人一つはマットレスが必要ですからこうなるのでしょう。中をのぞいてみるとどれも1000ドル以上はしており結構な値段です。私はIKEAで買いましたが安く抑えるならやはりIKEAです。
