ちきりんさんの「自分のアタマで考えよう」を読みました。
大量の情報にさらされている現代人にとって情報に溺れないようにするために必
要なことは「思考」するということです。この「思考」とは何であるか。データ
をそのまま理解せずに、なぜそうなったのか、今後はどうなるのかを自分で考え
ることだとちきりんさんはいいます。
本書の前半はいわゆる論理思考についてです。知っていることも多かったですが、
グラフの書き方で見えるものが変わるという9章や、終章の「思考の棚」の考え
方が興味深いです。婚活女子のシンプルな判断基準も興味深い！
本書に書かれている仮説思考はものの本に書かれてありますが、いかにそれを自
分のものにするかが問題なのです。ちきりんさんは日々ブログでその思考を披露
しているわけで、見習いたいものです。

2. 英語に関するあれこれ
仕事で洋書を一冊読まなければならなくなりました。時間的にあまり余裕がない
ので必死に読んでいます。時間がないのでわからない単語を調べている余裕は
ありません。意味が多少わからなくても読み進めるしかないのです。
そのうちに、読み飛ばしてもよい部分というのがあることに気づいてきました。
たとえ話をしているようの部分は理解できなくても本筋には影響がないのです。
また、重要な概念はあとで繰り返し説明されるので、枝葉末節にこだわること
はないのです。
1日10ページを目標に年末あたりから読む計画でしたが、サボったこともあり、
ペースをさらに上げる必要があります。
一週間に500から1000ページは読めないと海外で専門職としては働けないという
