eリーディング英語学習法の紹介の最終回です。


Kindleリーダーの話をもうすこし。


私が買ったKindleリーダーはWiFiのみで139ドルです。

もう一つのタイプ、WiFi + 3Gのタイプは189ドルです。

DXという画面の大きなタイプもあります。


3Gは日本国内でも無料というのがすごいです。

50ドルの違いですが、今は3Gのほうがよかったかなと思っています。


WiFIタイプの場合、自宅の無線LANでネットにつないで、

本をダウンロードします。


3G付きの場合はもちろん外でも本をダウンロードできます。


また、使い方によってはWEBサイトをInstapaperを使って

取り込んで、読んだりもできるみたいです。



Kindleは新聞や雑誌も購入できます。

最初の2週間はトライアルで無料です。


今はAsahi Shimbunを試しています。


通勤電車で新聞を読んでいるとダウンロードした本を読む暇がありません。


2週間経ったら別の新聞を試してみます。


なんといっても新聞が153誌ありますから。

飽きるまで新聞を試せそうです。


新聞の次は雑誌ですね。これも68誌が2週間無料!


新聞と雑誌はKindle Reading App(パソコンやiPhoneで読むためのアプリ)

でも2週間無料です。



無料の本については、eリーディング英語学習法の著者である遠田和子さんと

岩渕デボラさんによるサイト

が素晴らしく、無料の本の山となっています。

プロモーション目的で、普通の本が無料になっているのです。

驚きですね。


日本の書籍もいつかKindleで読むことのできる日が来るのでしょうか?



ということで、Amazonだけでも無料のコンテンツがこれだけたくさん

あるのでおすすめです。



ところで、KindleではPDFファイルが読みにくいという声があります。


PCからPDFをUSB経由でKindleに移せるのですが、

確かにそのまままではKindleの画面が小さいため、PDFの文字が小さくて読めません。


そこで使えるのが、公開されている英語のPDFファイルを

Kindleフォーマットに変換する無料サービスです。


下のFAQにあるKindle Personal Document Serviceを使えば一発です。

こうするとそのままでは文字が小さくで読めないKindleでも、Kindle用の

フォーマットに変換されるので、e-book並に見やすくなります。
