なのでしょう。

beatは心臓の鼓動のことのようです。
Words and Phrasesの「ちゅうちょしない、すかさずやる」という
日本語訳もコウビルドに載っていましたが、上に挙げたような
「常に情報を把握して優位に立つ」という意味のほうが、ビニエット
の状況には合っていますね。
テキスト45ページの日本語訳でも「ちゅうちょしない」という意味
ではなく「情報を収集する」となっています。
